The last two years have upended the human service industry, advancing pre-COVID industry struggles to dire levels – the retention and hiring of staff to support individuals with disabilities at the forefront. The challenges of the last two years have forced agency heads and their staff to do more with less, become creative, and find new ways to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including Autism, and/or brain injury.

So, how do we move forward in “this new normal?” How do we move forward as leaders? They say you need to put your own oxygen mask on first to help those around you. How can we be our best for ourselves and in our leadership roles given the complexities of the current industry stressors? How do we as leaders best support staff so they can be their best for the people who we support? We are facing workforce shortages like never before. How do we inspire, motivate, and encourage our current staff to stay and continue doing their best work when challenges have mounted around us? How do we inspire and encourage our industry staff to keep making the strides to bring positive change in the world of human services? How do we attract and retain new direct support professionals to a field that offers career-makings, as well as meaningful life experiences?

ADDP has enlisted four keynote speakers who we think will help inspire, motivate, and encourage our agency CEOs, executives, senior leadership, and managers, and who might be able to answer some of these questions.
